JERICHO Lives On, In More Ways Than One!!

A Dark Knight Post

Skeet Ulrich rises from the ashes of Hollywood cancellation, with a big-screen debut for the post apocalyptic epic "Jericho". Executive producer Jon Turtletaub confirmed the movie is indeed still happening: "We're developing a feature for Jericho," Turteltaub explained. "It would not require you to have seen the TV show, but it gets into life after an event like this on a national scale. It would be the bigger, full-on American version of what’s going on, beyond the town in Jericho."

Jericho told the story of a Kansas town that survived a single act of nuclear terrorism that took out two dozen or so U.S. cities on the same day.

In January, news broke that a feature film version of Jericho was being developed. Yesterday SCI FI Wire reported that the movie is actively in development, quoting co-executive producer Dan Shotz:

“It’s not just wishful thinking,” Shotz said in an exclusive interview Tuesday at CBS Studios in Studio City, Calif., where he screened the pilot of his new series, Harper’s Island. He added: “We’ve … been developing a feature to hopefully make, because we would love to. I mean, … Jericho is so built in a way, … especially where we left off season two, to create a feature. So our hope is to launch this comic-book series and then, with the development at the same time of the feature, hopefully get that launched as well.”

The comic book series Shotz refers to will be released by Devil’s Due Publishing this fall.

MORE JERICHO....SORTA, KINDA, NOT.......WELL IT SOUNDS SIMILAR ANYWAY.

Day One - New NBC pilot!!!

After a "global event" devastates the Earth's infrastructures, a group of survivors attempt to rebuild society and figure out what happened. Heroes' Jesse Alexander wrote the pilot, which was directed by Alex Graves (Fringe). Day One stars Julie Gonzalo, David Lyons, Carly Pope, Adam Campbell, Thekla Reuten, Derek Mio, Addison Timlin and Catherine Dent.

At this stage it's only a pilot, but chances are promising for a full series. Day One was specifically announced by NBC as a possibility to take over Heroes' Monday timeslot. This sounds an awfully lot like Jericho, but in my books that ain't a bad thing....JERICHO rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although new series' are thin on the ground at the moment, DAY ONE sounds like a real cracker. Let's see what FOX announce and CW when their new shows are announced.

I'm outta here....laters.........DK.
