Movie News Rundown Of The Week...

See how I put 'of the week' in the post titles now? Clever huh?

Anyway, here's your weekly news rundown for upcoming movies in the pipeline. Enjoy!

Chronicle's Dane DeHaan lands Harry Osborne role in Amazing Spider-Man sequel

Yes, as the title suggests Dane DeHaan from the 2012 movie 'Chronicle' has just been confirmed by Sony Pictures as Harry Osborne in the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man also starring Jamie Fox as Electro... There had been word of DeHaan's involvement a few weeks back but the news was quoshed. Now it's been confirmed, and to be honest I think he's perfect for the role. So does this mean we're now waiting on casting news for Norman Osborne? And will we be seeing Green Goblin too at some point? Only time will tell.

New Terminator movie deals agreed

No news on when we'll see a new Terminator movie at this time as the deal has only just been signed, but it seems the right to the Terminator franchise were just acquired by Annapurna Pictures with co-production being done through Skydance Productions. The rights also include potential TV projects, home entertainment, merchandise, and video games, so we could be seeing a whole load of Terminator stuff heading our way before 2019 (a max date set for making sure the license is used). So it's not "Hasta la Vista" for the franchise just yet!

Star Trek sequel: Klingons announced and Alice Eve and Benedict Cumberbatch's characters revealed?

So the Star Trek news is flowing fast and heavy since the trailer was released the other day and during press conference it was revealed that not only will the Klingons be featuring in the sequel (Next Generation head ridges included, but moustaches and goatees like the original series too) but also that Alice Eve is actually playing Dr. Carol Marcus (y'know the mother of Kirk's son from The Wrath of Khan and creator of 'Project Genesis'?). This brings up a lot of questions about the plot line, but the biggest question is "who the hell is John Harrison"? This is the name given to Benedict Cumberbatch's villainous antagonist, although many are still hoping this is a smoke and mirrors attempt at covering up the real truth... that he's actually the original series character 'Gary Mitchell', someone with huge mental and physical powers (as seen in the trailer?). We'll see. For all we know he could still be Khan himself! :P

And just for that extra kick in the teeth... Is someone (cough *Spock* cough) going to die/sacrifice himself in this film? These two pics below make me a little worried... If you've seen Wrath of Khan you'll understand my thinking!

Harry Potter 9 being filmed? Not quite...

A NINTH Harry Potter film is secretly being shot — but fans of the boy wizard will have to visit one of his theme parks to see it.

The eighth big-screen movie based on JK Rowling’s books had been billed as the final one.
But Helena Bonham Carter, 46, is among cast members who have been filming scenes at the Potter studios in Hertfordshire — reprising her role as witch Bellatrix Lestrange.
A source confirmed last night: “The cast have really enjoyed getting back together — they are so tight-knit.”

Spellbinding ... author JK Rowling and, right, Helena Bonham Carter
The new “mini movie” will go on show at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction in Florida and two new Hogwarts theme parks under construction.
California will see one open in 2014, followed by another in Japan in 2016.
The last “real” film based on the books, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows — Part 2, was completed last year.

It took the total earned during the ten-year movie franchise to more than £5billion worldwide.
The source said of the mystery new adventure: “The shooting schedule is nowhere near as long as the films, so though filming has been intense, the stars have enjoyed being able to pop in and out.”

New posters for upcoming movies: Man of Steel, Star Trek 2: Into Darkness, Monsters University, Carrie, & The Wolverine.
